Between the Mountains and the Sea

Here at the Ducktrap Motel, we warmly welcome visitors from New England, around the United State, Canada, and from abroad. You will enjoy our convenient location, sparkling clean rooms, moderate rates, and friendly, personal service. We welcome the opportunity to meet your needs whether for a night or two or an extended stay. We are confident you will enjoy your stay at the Ducktrap Motel. We are also very excited to announce that we are pet friendly here at the Ducktrap Motel.

About Ducktrap Motel

Open seasonally from mid-May through mid-October, the Ducktrap Motel, hidden just off US Route 1 (Atlantic Highway), is ten minutes north of Camden and in the midst of one of the country's most beautiful places to visit. The mid-coast region's many unique features include Penobscot Bay, Mount Battie, and Camden Hills State Park.

For those coming to Maine to enjoy a wedding or family reunion, we have a quiet place for you to enjoy in between all of the festivities. We are one mile from Point Lookout and one mile from Lincolnville Beach.

From your first glimpse of the Ducktrap Motel, you begin to recognize the unique qualities that bring so many travelers to our doors. Explore the rocky shoreline, relax on the spacious private lawn (the perfect place to begin your day with a freshly brewed cup of coffee), or at Ducktrap Beach, just five minutes away.

The Camden Area

Experience the best of Maine on the shores of Penobscot Bay: a refreshing breeze, sparkling skies and deep blue ocean, dotted with fishing boats, white sails, and distant islands.

We are located on just out of sight of coastal US Route 1, just minutes from Camden and Rockport Harbors, Rockland, and the historic and picturesque town of Belfast.

Pack a lunch and drive or hike to the top of Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park for spectacular panoramic views. Or go off the beaten path and hike in Tanglewood, a 4H camp with public access to many well-groomed trails. Or take a leisurely trip by canoe or kayak down the Ducktrap River from Tanglewood to Ducktrap Beach.

Planning a wedding or special event? We offer clean, quiet rooms for you and your guests. We are located near the following.
  • A mile from Point Lookout in Northport
  • Seven miles from Harbor Park in Camden
  • Nine miles from Vesper Hill Chapel in Rockport

Reviews

"This location, though off the beaten path, was perfect. Great price, beautiful and clean room with enough amenities to keep you happy. We got in late and Scott and Reesa met us to say hi and to wish us rest after a 17 hour drive from Michigan. We did the paperwork in the morning while chatting about musical instruments! Definitely worth staying out of the way for the experience." Angela P, Trip Advisor

Attractions
